Founded in 1987 with the slogan “Streamlined For Business”, BMI Regional is a British regional airline that operates scheduled passenger services across the UK and Europe. With a fleet size of 18 Embraer aircrafts, BMI Regional currently oversees more than 300 scheduled flights a week across a network of 22 destinations in 10 European countries. A popular airline for business travellers, BMI Regional has held the title of the UK’s most punctual airline for the past 9 out of 10 years and was originally established under the name Business Air. BMI Regional serves niche markets on domestic UK and European routes which are ideally suited to small jet operations. For more expansive trips, the airline currently operates seven routes as codeshares with Lufthansa Airlines and Brussels Airlines, enabling passengers to easily connect 2 global airline networks.

Online check-in

• Online check-in is available for most BMI Regional flights between 48 hours and 4 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure. Online check-in is not mandatory and passengers wishing to check-in at the airport terminal are permitted to do so without extra charge.
• The online check-in service is offered to all passengers with the relevant travel documentation, which includes passport and a valid BMI Regional booking reference.
• It is possible to have your flight ticket delivered directly to your mobile phone using the online check-in service.
• For destinations in which online check-in is unavailable, passengers are able to check-in at the airport terminal. This service is free of charge.

Cabin luggage allowance

• Cabin luggage brought on board a BMI Regional flight must not exceed the dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 23cm. These dimensions include all wheels, handles, side pockets, etc.
• All items of cabin luggage are subject to a weight limit of 12kg.
• Each passenger may carry 1 item of cabin luggage plus an additional item such as a handbag, laptop bag, Duty-Free shopping bag etc. provided they meet the size and weight specifications of the flight.
• Passengers flying with small children may bring fully collapsible strollers onto the aircraft as cabin luggage, though carrycots must be checked into the cargo hold.

Checked baggage allowance

• BMI Regional does not currently have any size limitations for checked baggage.
• Each individual item of checked baggage can weigh no more than 23kg, though this can be increased to 32kg per item for a fee. Baggage that exceeds the defined weight limits shall be subjected to an overweight charge by the airline.
• Each passenger is entitled to 1 free item of checked baggage. Additional baggage allowance may be purchased provided that no one individual item exceeds the weight limit defined by the airline.
• Infants aged less than 2 years are entitled to one piece of checked baggage, with a maximum weight of 10kg. Although strollers are considered to be suitable for cabin luggage, carrycots must be checked.
• Sports equipment may be checked into the aircraft’s cargo hold for a fixed fee provided each item weighs no more than 20kg. Items that weigh more than this shall be subjected to an overweight charge.
