The best beaches in Krabi

Railay beach is often considered the most beautiful beach in Thailand. It's surrounded by huge rocky peaks that rise from the water. It's inaccessible by land and can only be accessed by a boat from Ao Nang, something that adds charm to this beach. Ideal to relax in a tropical paradise, it is also perfect for climbing or simply to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the beach bar.

Lively Ao Nang Beach combines the beauty of the typical karst landscape of the area with a great variety of restaurants, bars and other services. Easily accessible from the Krabi's city centre, it is also an excellent starting point to visit the nearby islands, including Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi. Pleasant and very suitable for families with small children, it is certainly the most popular beach in Krabi.

Near Ao Nang is Nopparat Thara, a beautiful 3 kilometre long beach bordered by trees. The nearest part of Ao Nang is the most developed, while the beach is just across the river and is relatively wild and accessible only by boat or via a small dirt road. Very popular with locals, the Noppharat beach is quiet and perfectly equipped for a day of swimming, sunbathing and to have a picnic with family.

Located north of Ao Nang Klong, Muang Beach is not very popular among tourists. Consequently, it is quite well preserved from mass tourism and you can spend some quiet time in front of the beautiful Andaman Sea admiring the islands of Ko Hong. They've recently built several luxury resorts.

Wedged between the famous Princess Cave and a huge rock, Phra Nang is simply beautiful. Accessible from Ao Nang in about 20 minutes by boat, it's composed of a thin strip of sand bordered by huge rocks where climbers can give into their passion. You can relax on the sand, soak your feet in the water and close your eyes... you'll feel like you are in paradise!

On Tub Kaek Beach, unlike most beaches in the area, there are cliffs and other natural wonders. It's simply a beautiful beach where the water is clear, the sand is white and delicate. This is the perfect beach if you are looking for a place to relax without distractions.
