Riviera Maya beaches

Akumal beach

About 100 km to the south of Cancún you can find this beach with its white sands, crystalline waters, and incredible reefs. This beach is great for scuba-diving or doing some snorkelling, but it's also the preferred place for local sea turtles to lay their eggs. As a matter of fact, the literal meaning of Akumal is "Turtle Land," so it's no wonder that conservation and preservation of the beach are a high priority. A great beach for everybody!

Mamitas beach

If you've come for the night life, then this beach is for you. Playa del Carmen's biggest party is held in and around Mamitas. Musical artists like David Guetta and Tiesto have rocked the house for hundreds of people all night long, and it's also a popular site for concerts being held for other big festivals. This is the garden of Eden plus rock 'n roll!

Xpu-Há beach

Boasting broad sandy areas and shallow waters (barely half a metre deep), Xpu-Há is ideal for bringing your little ones on an outing. Its small waves make it one of the calmest, most relaxing beaches on any Mexican coast. And best of all, this beach is in a hidden, sheltered area of the Riviera-Maya. What more could you want?

Paraíso beach

If you find yourself exploring the ruins of Tulum and you happen to ask the local inhabitants to recommend a beach, they will definitely encourage you to visit Paraíso Beach. There's no doubt about it, this beach has been chosen on multiple occasions as one of the top beaches in the whole world by Trip Advisor. You'll see why once you arrive, with the turquoise waters in front of you, the soft white sand underfoot, and a very special natural environment all around you.

Punta Maroma beach

A mere ten minutes north of Playa del Carmen, some of the most amazing, incredible landscapes of the Mexican Caribbean can be found at Punta Maroma Beach, which is surrounded by every type of service imaginable while still respecting the natural environment that surrounds the area. So you'll be well-equipped for any type of outing. You're sure to have a five-star holiday here.

Sian Ka'an beach

The Sian Ka'an Nature Reserve has received World Heritage Site status thanks to its special ecosystem. So this is probably one of the best places to explore the landscape of the Riviera Maya looking just like it did decades ago. It features massive beaches with white sand, crystal blue waters, and wild nature on all sides. It's like going back in time.
