Malaga Airport is one of the busiest airports in Spain (alongside Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca). The airport, one of the oldest in the country, currently has three terminals, the third being the most recently constructed, designed by Bruce S. Fairbanks. You can fly to Manchester from Malaga Airport as well as many other domestic, European and international destinations. Although the airport is at its busiest during the months of June and September, this region of Spain attracts visitors all year round.

Travel to Malaga airport

There are many low-cost airlines that operate cheap flights from Malaga to Manchester on a regular basis, leaving from Malaga Airport, which is five miles southwest of Malaga city centre and threemiles north of Torremolinos. To get to the airport from Malaga city centre, you can take the A Express bus service that runs between Malaga Bus Station and the airport, or you can take the Renfe Malaga Airport Train on the Malaga Cercanias Line directly to Terminal 3 from the city centre. A Direct Express bus service runs between towns such as Marbella, Estepona and Algeciras and the airport, while the Direct Bus service passes through Granada, Seville, Almeria and Cordoba.

Malaga to Manchester flights arrive into Manchester Airport, nine miles southwest of Manchester city centre. The airport is situated along the M56 motorway, which links to the M6 and M60 motorways. Public transport is available from the airport, which has three terminals connected by a moving Skylink walkway. A Metrolink tram service is available between the airport and Cornbrook, where you can connect with trams bound for the city centre. The airport also has a train station where TransPennine and Northern Rail trains run to the city centre (about 20 minutes). A range of bus services also run to and from the airport such as the 18 (via the Trafford Centre), 200, 105 and 43.
