The Old Town of Belgrade, known as Stari Grad, is dominated by the imposing Belgrade Fortress, which has been destroyed and rebuilt many times since Roman times and is the most visited attraction in the city. Set in the vast Kalemegdan Park, which also includes Belgrade Zoo and the Belgrade Military Museum, Belgrade Fortress offers panoramic views over the city and the rivers beyond. Travel packages to Belgrade should also include the Church of Saint Sava, completed in 1989, but in Byzantine Revival style, and Knez Mihaila, or Prince Michael Street, for its architecture and friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
