Cultured, laid-back and fun, Liverpool has many unique and engaging attractions that appeal to visitors of all ages. Its airport, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, even pays tribute to the city's musical heritage, by naming the airport after the former Beatle member in 2001. The airport handles upwards of four million passengers annually and operates flights to over 60 destinations in the UK and Europe. It is a major hub for low-cost airlines and operates regular flights to Paris from Liverpool. Liverpool Airport has one terminal and a range of on-site facilities, dining and shopping. Parking and drop-off zones are within walking distance of the terminal.

Travel to Liverpool airport

If you are travelling from Liverpool to Paris, you will leave from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which if driving can be accessed via the M56, M57 and M62 motorways. You can take the Arriva 500 Airport Express bus service from Liverpool Lime Street Station to the airport, as well as the 80A and 82A/82B buses from the city centre. You can take the train from Liverpool Central train station or Liverpool Lime Street station to Liverpool South Parkway train station, about two miles from the airport, from which buses or taxis connect passengers to the airport terminal.

Arriving in Paris

Hailed as one of the world's most romantic cities, there is a wealth of cultural and historical highlights scattered throughout the Paris. You could start by walking along the dreamy River Seine, visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and sip a coffee at a pavement cafe. Hike up the Montmartre for sweeping city views and then descend upon the tree-lined Avenue Champs-Élysées to see the imposing Arc de Triomphe. Art lovers will be simply amazed by what's on display throughout the city from Da Vinci at the Louvre Museum and impressionists at the Orsay Museum to contemporary art at the Pompidou Centre. As evening falls, head to the atmospheric Marais or Latin Quarter.

Travelling to the city centre

Paris flights can arrive into one of two main airports in Paris: Charles de Gaulle Airport or Orly Airport. The easiest and cheapest way to access the city centre is by public transport. If you are travelling from Charles de Gaulle, you can take the SNCF train line from Terminal 2 or the regional RER line from Terminals 1 and 3. Roissybus bus service runs from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Paris Opera Station. The 350 bus service runs to Paris Gare de l'Est and the 351 bus to Paris Nation. From Orly Airport you can take a shuttle bus to Antony Station where line B on the RER transit railway connects to the metro.
