Flights from Glasgow

Glasgow is a cosmopolitan city in Scotland, famous for its cultural atmosphere, thriving arts scene and historical architecture. Glasgow Airport is one of the busiest in Europe, serving both the city and this region of Scotland. The airport operates regular flights from Glasgow to Belfast, as well as many other destinations around Europe and the rest of the world via around 30 airlines serving over 120 destinations worldwide including Europe, Canada, the US and the Caribbean. The airport has two terminals, the older Terminal 1, which deals with the majority of arrivals and departures, while the newer Terminal 2 handles mainly low-cost airlines. Both terminals can be accessed via a covered walkway.

Travel to Glasgow airport

Glasgow flights to Belfast may leave from one of Glasgow Airport's two terminals. The airport is six miles from Glasgow city centre, accessed from the M8 motorway via Junction 28 (eastbound) or Junction 29 (westbound). There are parking options on-site including long stay parking, short stay parking and a drop off zone close to the terminals. The Glasgow Airport Express 500 bus service takes passengers from the city centre to the airport in about 15 minutes, while local buses including the services 915, 77 and 757 connect the airport with the city centre. Additionally, a train service runs to Paisley Gilmour Street rail station, about a mile from the terminal, connected by the 757 bus.

Arriving in Belfast

Year on year more visitors flock to Belfast to see its wealth of historical sights, splendid Victorian architecture and leafy Botanical Gardens. In the Cathedral Quarter you can access many of the city's main sights on foot including Donegall Square, St. Anne's Cathedral and the Albert Clock. From here you can take a stroll down narrow cobbled streets and visit vibrant St. Georges Market. The urban waterfront is dominated by the Titanic Quarter, which tells the story of the construction of the ship before it set sail that fateful night in 1912. In the evening you could see a show at the Waterfront Hall or have dinner at a traditional pub.

Travelling to the city centre

Passengers travelling from Glasgow to Belfast City Airport will find that the airport has excellent links to the city centre. The airport is situated on the A2 Sydenham Bypass road between Belfast and Holywood. If you are travelling by train, you can take a shuttle bus from outside the terminal to Sydenham train station where trains run to Belfast city centre. You could also pick up the No.3 Metrobus from Sydenham train station, which goes to City Hall. Furthermore, the Airport Express 600 bus, leaves from outside the terminal and terminates at Belfast Europa Bus Centre in the centre. If you plan to go to Derry or Londonderry, you can take the Airporter bus service.
