Wizz Air, also written wizzair, is a Hungarian low cost airline with headquarters at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. The company was founded in 2003 in London. The Hungarian airline operates low cost flights to 66 destinations in Europe and Asia. Similar to the budget carrier Ryanair, Wizz Air prefers to fly to smaller, secondary airports outside of larger cities.
Web check-in is available from 14 days to 3 hours before scheduled flight departure. If you want to check-in at the airport you will have to choose that option during booking and pay a fee of €10. If you do not pay this fee and arrive at the airport without your boarding pass you will be charged a higher fee of €20 to check-in.
Passengers who have checked-in online and are traveling with checked baggage, must present themselves at the baggage drop-off counter at least 40 minutes before scheduled flight departure. If you arrive at the bag drop-off counter and you do not have your printed boarding pass you will have to pay a €40 boarding pass re-issue fee.
All Wizz Air passengers must present valid travel documents at check-in. Passengers flying within the EU with non-EU travel documents must present themselves at the Wizz Air check-in desks to have their documents checked and stamped before flying. Non-EU passengers without the stamp will not be allowed to board.
To check baggage with Wizz Air there is an extra fee. Passengers can check up to 6 bags with a maximum weight of 32kg each. Wizz Air is the worst airline ever, I prefer to walk to my next destination rather than using this airline again. The flight, hostesses and aircraft were all great for a budget airline but it is ridiculous to make people pay extra for overhead bags (carry on bags). People select the flight as its the cheapest at the time and it is very sneaky and unfair to then charge extra for the carry on suitcases. ALL other budget airlines allow you to carry 1 bag on board at no extra cost.JMD

It's a really bad experience flyibg with Wizz. I was charged 30pounds, as my luggage was oversized. There's no way that one would be aware that a small size luggage is referring to just a backpack. Not only me, many of the passenger on the flight got the penalty. The staff who in charged of this wasn't quite polite as well. It's like he wanted every single one to pay, even their luggage was super slightly oversized. He made almost everyone to measure, and this caused a long queue and delay. Don't like wizz air. Wizzair have the worst baggage rules in the business. Had to pay £40 to carry on regular sized cabin baggage. Awful in 2016. And sneaky.B
Very impressed by my first flights with Wizz. From the booking to the return home, everything went well. Emails to remind me to prepare and invite upgrades were well timed and not too intrusive. Staff were friendly and helpful and the car parking arrangements were fantastic. Altogether a superb experience and completely surprising at budget process.newtowizz

Since I can't understand English well, I object to the fact that only the information regarding safety and the items sold on the plane were translated into two languages. The pilot told us in English why did we take off with delay, as well as where we were at the moment, our route, speed etc., but all these things were not translated, however I was very curious about them. Otherwise, these pieces of information were presented only on the return journey, because the pilot shared them with us. I think it would be useful to speak about these things all the time.Aniko

I am disabled with back problems, I also have heart condition and COPD so having seats that recline is important without having people behind me moan because I recline my seat, and having to pay more for extra leg room seats because I am disabled is scandalous and also having to pay for priority boarding tooMike
