Headquartered in Dublin International Airport, Aer Lingus is Ireland’s second largest airline, after low cost competitor, Ryanair. The airline offers routes to over 80 destinations in Ireland, England, Continental Europe, the United States and Northern Africa. Apart from Dublin, it has hubs in Belfast City, Cork, London Gatwick, and Shannon. Aer Lingus was founded in 1936 by the Irish Government and its first flight took off in May of the same year, in a route from Dublin to Bristol. Today, the airline employs over 4,000 people with a fleet of 45 Airbus aircraft which in 2011 flew over 9.5 million passengers.
Aer Lingus was a member of the Oneworld alliance until 2007, and today, although it is no longer part of the alliance, has maintained code share agreements with OneWorld, SkyTeam, and StarAlliance members and interline agreements with Aer Arann, JetBlue Airways, and United Airlines.

Awful inflight experience. NO food at all except sweets. This is supposed to be a good quality national airline and it was appalling. Only consolation was the the cabin crew were lovely and terribly apologetic. Shame on Aer lingus. Cheapskates.Steve
Expensive compared to other airways, then had to pay more to have a seat! very nice friendly check in lady in Dublin Airport.Yan
Travelled out with Ryanair, difficult website to check in, kept going down, back with Aerlingus no problems at all.Pete
The boarding gate notice went up 6 mins before last boarding; it was only because the flight was late that I didn't miss it! Suggestion: do as they do in Dublin - put the boarding gate up in plenty of time.Caz
Good connections, great value! Good communication on flight info from the company. Felt that they were with me all the way.Stanley
On the documentation we down-loaded it stated that we had to take ID or passports, as we are going to Siberia at the end of the month and our passports were at the consulate in Edinburgh for our Visa's we use our photograph driving licences but just to be sure we took photo copies of our passports. Leaving from Glasgow there was no problem using the driving license with Airlingus but on our return with Ryanair they refused to accept our identlification even though they were shown all the information supplied by yourselves, I asked for a refund but this was also refused; in the, end we had to get a return flight through Airlingus at a cost of almost £500.00. It is my intention to visit Citizens Advice tomorrowDon't have one
Poor explanation of baggage weights especially when we book with Aer Lingus and then it says a "regional" flight with stobart air. HOW can it be regional???Phil
Having never flown on British Airways. Really enjoyable flight and staff from checking in to flight attendants.Titch
Ryan Air total rubbish service return Going out with Air Lingas was superb so this rating applies to Ryan Air onlybadger girl
One of the best air lines to fly with cabin staff outstanding would recomend anyone to fly with Aer LingusPete
RIDICULOUS AND VERY SHARP PRACTICE TO OVERCHARGE FOR A BOOKING. The Aer Lingus fare was in euros. Converting to Sterling and back again was unnecessary other than to confuse and skim off some currency gain in the process. A charge for the use of a Visa Debit card was also sharp practise.Happy
If we get tickets before one week they should give us cheap price & when we done a once they shouldn't change price last time I have a experienceAhmaf
Aer Lingus lovely seats, good room, excellent service on board. Brilliant crew. Will use again and highly recommend.Jo
Not happy with the flight service, not value for money, paying for a seat on the plane or I couldn't check in! Why when I had paid for the flight and baggageMs crawford
For a "budget" airline, Aer Lingus costs an arm and a leg, and its baggage restrictions are absurd. Airlines know that competition is virtually nonexistent; such poor service would never fly in private industry...Tom
It would be good if you could contact a human to deal with issues, every part of the process has been unsatisfactory and you owe me approximately £500 which I was promised on confirmation and it has not been received. I was messed around on making the booking and when I tried to contact you today to chase the outstanding debt no one answered the call.none
I booked on line and not sure if I paid for seat - if I did then I didn't want to because I was travelling on my own and such a short flight didn't matter where I satPaula Heath
Security at T2 Heathrow was an utter hell nightmare last time. I have avoided using T2 and Aer-lingus as a result, but had to this time. It was better, but the experience last time permanently killed anything happy about flying AerlingusA Service Charge unit
pleasantly surprised as I had heard bad reports on Ryanair but both airlines were good more legroom than on some more expensive airlinesjoan
